Location: Remote
Department: Engineering / Data Team
Reports to: Head of Engineering or Director of Data
Job Type: Full-Time
Overview
We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our analytics and data science team focused on building and maintaining high-quality data pipelines across multiple data sources. The ideal candidate has experience working with file-based data exports from a variety of banking systems—such as Jack Henry, Fiserv, FIS, Finastra, and CSI—as representative examples of common financial data sources.
This role centers around designing scalable pipelines, ensuring data quality, and transforming heterogeneous financial feeds into a consistent internal schema that supports AML, fraud analytics, and regulatory reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Develop Pipelines: Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, normalize, and transform data from structured and semi-structured formats (CSV, XML, JSON, SFTP drops, etc.).
Data Standardization: Translate diverse data feeds—including those exported from banking systems—into a unified schema used across AML, fraud, and customer risk analysis.
Data Quality & Validation: Develop robust validation logic and monitoring tools to detect anomalies and ensure data integrity across ingestion layers.
Vendor-Agnostic Integration: Map and ingest data from a wide variety of banking software vendors (e.g., Jack Henry, Fiserv, FIS, Finastra, CSI), with the understanding that these are common industry examples—not requirements.
Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with data scientists, product managers, and compliance experts to meet evolving analytical and regulatory needs.
Serve as a technical liaison with clients, helping them structure their data exports, diagnose issues with feed delivery or formatting
Pipeline Optimization: Tune pipeline performance, storage efficiency, and scalability across batch and streaming environments.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain clear, auditable documentation for data source mappings, transformations, and quality rules.
Security First: Prioritize secure handling of sensitive financial and personally identifiable information using industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role working with large-scale data transformation pipelines.
Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
Familiarity with ingesting file-based data formats (e.g., fixed-width, CSV, XML, JSON).
Experience integrating data from banking systems or other financial applications (specific vendors are not required).
Understanding of data modeling, schema design, and schema harmonization across diverse data feeds.
Hands-on experience with data pipeline orchestration tools such as Airflow, dbt, Dagster, or similar.
Experience with cloud platforms like GCP and/or AWS (S3, Lambda, Glue, RDS, etc.).
A strong focus on data quality, integrity, and traceability in regulated environments.
Bonus Experience
Exposure to AML or fraud analytics pipelines.
Experience working closely with data scientists or ML engineers.
Familiarity with streaming data systems like Kafka or Kinesis.
Previous work with financial institutions, fintechs, or regtech platforms.
Experience with data warehousing tools like BigQuery, Redshift, or Snowflake.
Why Join RiskScout?
Play a critical role in building infrastructure that supports real-time fraud detection and financial crime prevention.
Collaborate with a driven, talented team in a mission-focused startup environment.
Enjoy remote work flexibility with a culture of ownership, transparency, and meaningful technical work.
Solve novel data challenges at the intersection of compliance, regulation, and technology.

About the Role
RiskScout is building the compliance infrastructure layer for community and regional banking and we're scaling fast. We're looking for a Lead Engineer to own development of our real-time transaction fraud detection platform and the integrations that connect it to the core banking ecosystem (Jack Henry, Finastra, Fiserv, FIS, and others).
This is a role for a strong Senior or Staff-level engineer who wants real ownership without the overhead of a large organization. You'll work within a small, focused team where decisions get made quickly, bureaucracy is low, and your work has a direct line to production. You'll have close access to the CTO and genuine influence over what gets built and how. The expectation is high. So is the opportunity.
You'll carry significant technical ownership, ship a high volume of meaningful work, and be a genuine thought partner on the product side. You'll work directly alongside our domain experts to shape what we build, not just execute on it.
We build with AI tooling as a first-class part of the development process. This isn't aspirational. It's how we operate. We're looking for someone who has genuinely incorporated AI into how they work and sees it as a multiplier, not a shortcut or a threat.
What You'll Work On
Real-time fraud detection: Design and build low-latency transaction screening pipelines handling ACH, wire, and P2P flows. Think velocity counters, behavioral pattern detection, and rule engines that operate at transaction time.
Core banking integrations: Build and maintain integrations with Jack Henry (jXchange), Finastra, Fiserv, FIS, DCI, and emerging providers. Understand the difference between a real integration and a file extract.
Product collaboration: Sit alongside compliance SMEs, product, and customers to help define what the system should do. You'll ask "why" before you ask "how," and you'll push back when the requirements don't add up.
Data infrastructure: Work across our GCP stack to move data reliably, fast, and at scale.
Technical leadership: Scope work, lead and unblock other developers, review PRs, and keep the project moving without needing heavy process overhead.
What We're Looking For
What matters most?
Solid production experience building real-time or event-driven systems where correctness and latency both matter. You've shipped something serious and know what that takes
The ability to read a problem domain quickly and translate ambiguous requirements into well-reasoned technical decisions, regardless of where that domain experience came from
Experience building and owning third-party integrations across the full spectrum: REST, SOAP, webhooks, file-based
Working knowledge of Ruby on Rails. You don't need to be an expert, but you can navigate and contribute to a Rails codebase
AI-native development as a genuine habit. You use Cursor, Claude, Copilot, or similar tools as a core part of how you work, not an experiment
The ability to hold a product conversation and a technical conversation in the same breath. You don't wait to be told what to build
Enough leadership experience to keep a mid-level developer unblocked and moving forward, even when you're deep in your own work
Helpful background
Experience in financial services, fintech, payments, or any domain where compliance and correctness are non-negotiable
Familiarity with ACH/NACHA processing, ISO 20022, or core banking data models
Hands-on GCP experience (Bigtable, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run)
Exposure to fraud detection, AML, or transaction monitoring systems
Nice to have
BSA/AML compliance platforms, OFAC screening, SAR/CTR workflows, or FinCEN 314(a)/(b)
Prior work at a fintech, core banking vendor, or financial institution technology team
Who You Are
You pick up new domains fast. You ask good questions, pattern-match against what you already know, and start forming opinions quickly. You don't need every requirement handed to you. You can sit in a room with a compliance officer or a bank operations team and come out with a clear picture of what needs to be built.
You default to simple. You know the complex solution and you've probably built it before, but your first instinct is to ask whether you actually need it yet. You're comfortable building something that will need to be rearchitected when the time comes, because you understand that's not technical debt. That's a system that grew with the business.
You don't say "that wasn't in the spec." You ask "does this actually solve the problem?"
You're looking for a place where your output directly shapes the product and the company, not a role where you're one of many engineers executing someone else's vision. This is that place.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary and equity
Company-paid, personal tax advisory services
Work remotely, no commuting to the office
Paid co-working space if preferred
Health, dental, and vision insurance (US)
4 weeks of paid Discretionary Time Off (DTO)
Generous holiday Schedule (US Bank Holidays plus week between Christmas and NYE)

Marketing Manager, Demand Generation RiskScout | Austin, TX (Remote-first, US-based)
Location: Remote
Department: Marketing
Reports to: VP of Marketing
Job Type: Full-Time
About RiskScout
RiskScout is a team of BSA professionals and former bank examiners helping financial institutions prevent fraud losses and protect their communities while improving profitability. By leveraging our deep industry expertise, seamless data integrations, and intelligent automations, our comprehensive BSA/AML and Fraud platform empowers bankers to do more with less so they can focus on serving their community.
The Role
This is a hands-on, high-ownership marketing role. You'll own demand generation, email campaigns, CRM operations, and event execution, and you'll be the operational core of a lean marketing function. You won't have a large team behind you, so you need to know how to get things done, know which shortcuts are worth taking, and know when to build systems that make the next campaign faster than the last one.
We use AI tools to amplify our outputs. If you're not already using them to write faster, automate workflows, and multiply your output, you'll need to get there quickly.
What You'll Own
Demand gen and email marketing: campaign strategy, list segmentation, automation workflows, and performance reporting
CRM management: list hygiene, lead routing, pipeline reporting, and data integrity without leaning on the data team or engineering
Copywriting: emails, landing pages, LinkedIn, event materials. Drafts should need light editing, not rewrites
Event coordination: logistics, vendor communication, pre/post-show campaigns for a conference calendar that keeps growing
Co-marketing execution: coordinating assets, timelines, and messaging with channel partners
What We're Looking For
Must-haves:
3-6 years in a B2B marketing role with direct ownership of campaigns and CRM operations
Demonstrated copywriting ability
Experience managing event logistics
Comfort with marketing automation platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or equivalent)
Strong differentiators:
Financial services or B2B SaaS background, especially if you've marketed to community banks and credit unions
Experience running co-branded or partner marketing campaigns
Basic design skills in Canva for quick-turn assets
Nice to have:
Paid media experience (LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads)
SEO or content strategy background
Webinar or video production experience
What This Isn't
This isn't a role where you'll hand things off and manage vendors. You'll be the one building the campaigns, pulling the lists, writing the copy, and getting on calls with conference coordinators. If it sounds like exactly the kind of work you want ownership over, let's talk.
Compensation
Competitive salary and equity
Work remotely, no commuting to the office
Health, dental, and vision insurance (US)
Discretionary Time Off (DTO)
Generous holiday Schedule (US Bank Holidays plus week between Christmas and NYE)
Parental leave
Sick leave

About RiskScout
RiskScout is a high-growth SaaS partner providing a modern, intuitive platform for financial institutions to combat money laundering and financial crime. We help banks and credit unions navigate compliance, streamline customer onboarding, and execute enhanced due diligence with absolute confidence and clarity.
The Role
As a Project Manager on our Implementation team, you will own the onboarding journey for community banks and credit unions adopting RiskScout. You will coordinate every aspect of a project from inception to go-live: kickoff, scope, configuration, data migration, core integration, training, and the relationship that ties it all together. You will work directly with BSA Officers, compliance staff, IT contacts, and core processor partners (DCI, CSI/NuPoint, Fiserv Premier/Precision, Jack Henry, FIS) to take each FI to the finish line.
This is not a cat-herding role. You are the customer's primary point of contact, the steady voice when things slip, and the person who makes sure RiskScout is configured to the FI's actual workflows, not a generic template. You will run the technical conversations, too: data extracts, field mapping, log findings, and migration files. You will not be the engineer in the room, but you will understand enough to keep the engineers and the FI's IT team aligned.
Done well, FIs go live on schedule and feel taken care of along the way. The PM is the calmest, clearest voice in the room when things slip. And every project leaves our playbook a little better than it found it.
What "Good" Looks Like
FIs complete projects on schedule and feel taken care of along the way.
RiskScout is configured to the FI's actual BSA and fraud workflows, not a generic template.
You are the calmest, clearest voice in the room when something slips.
Internal partners (Engineering, Product, CSM, Data) get clean handoffs and useful context.
The team's playbook gets a little better every project.
Quick Facts
Success in Your First Year
We hold ourselves to specific expectations at this level. Here is what we hope you will have done by 90 days, 6 months, and 12 months.
By 90 days
Completed BSA/AML and product training. Passed the basic certifications we ask of every PM.
Shadowed two active implementations end-to-end with a senior PM.
Built working knowledge of one core (typically DCI) and a starting view on a second.
Maintained on-time task completion above 90% in Rocketlane on your owned book.
By 6 months
Running 3–5 concurrent FI implementations across at least two cores.
Owning weekly customer status meetings with internal and external teams.
Delivered your first go-live as primary PM, on or near baseline timeline.
CSAT above 8 on owned implementations. Zero critical escalations.
By 12 months
Time-to-go-live within 10% of baseline across your owned book.
First-call resolution above 70% on routine integration issues.
Contributed at least one improvement to our methodology or templates that the team adopted.
Recognized by partner contacts (DCI, CSI) as a reliable counterpart.
What You'll Do
Own implementations end-to-end. Coordinate every aspect of 3–5 active FI projects from kickoff through go-live. Hold the schedule, the scope, and the customer relationship together. Manage budget and resource trade-offs without surprises.
Run the core integration. Coordinate data extracts, field mapping, and migration files. Have substantive technical discussions about log findings and integration issues. Resolve routine integration issues on the first call.
Solve novel problems. When something does not fit the standard playbook (a non-standard core extract, an unusual third-party integration), adapt the approach without engineering's help. When it does fit, run the playbook crisply.
Be the steady voice. Run weekly customer status meetings with confidence. Summarize where things stand in three sentences a busy COO can act on. Escalate the right things to the right people at the right time.
Balance the trade-offs. Make scope and timeline calls that respect customer satisfaction, RiskScout cost, and team capacity. Develop win/win solutions that hold the relationship together.
Coordinate the cast. Keep RiskScout's Compliance, Product, Engineering, and Data teams aligned with the customer's IT, ops, and exec sponsors. Build durable relationships with core vendor counterparts.
Coach the team. Bring Associate PMs along on partner coordination and FI escalations. Make them better, not dependent on you. Share what you learn in real time.
Make the playbook better. Bring back what you learn. Improve our templates, our timelines, and our methodology with every project.
What You'll Bring
We hire on demonstrated outcomes, not credentials. If you have done the work, we want to talk.
Required
3–6 years managing customer-facing implementations, professional services projects, or operational programs at a regulated company. Fintech, FI software, or community banking preferred.
Experience running 3+ concurrent customer projects to scheduled go-live dates.
Comfort in the room with senior FI stakeholders (BSA Officer, Compliance Director, COO). You hold your own without overstepping.
Comfort with banking terminology and cash management basics.
Familiarity with at least one core processor (DCI, CSI/NuPoint, Fiserv, Jack Henry, FIS) or strong appetite to learn.
Comfort handling technical conversations about data mapping, migration files, log findings, and integration flows, even if you are not the engineer.
Track record balancing customer needs with internal cost and resource constraints. You know what to escalate, what to absorb, and what to push back on.
Written clarity. Status notes and RAID logs a busy executive can read in 30 seconds.
How you show up matters
Empathy and active listening. You read the room, especially with compliance teams under regulator pressure.
Executive presence. You can run a steering meeting with a BSA Officer and a COO and have them leave clearer than they arrived.
Conflict navigation. You handle scope and timeline pushback without burning the relationship. You develop win/win solutions, not winners and losers.
Ownership. You own the slip, the miss, and the fix. No finger-pointing.
Calibration. You know what to escalate, when to ask, and when to decide.
Nice to have
Direct experience at a community bank or credit union (under 200 employees).
Familiarity with Rocketlane, Asana, or a similar customer-facing PM platform.
Experience profiling customer back-office workflows and advising on process change.
Experience with vendor coordination (Mitek, FIS IBS, third-party CFD providers).
Working knowledge of BSA/AML or fraud compliance workflows, or a track record of picking up regulated domains quickly.
PMP, CSM, or a Six Sigma background. These are welcomed and supported, but not required.
Tools you'll work with
Rocketlane for customer-facing project tracking and status hygiene.
Slack and Google Workspace for daily collaboration.
Core processor partner portals and integration tooling (DCI, CSI, Fiserv, Jack Henry, FIS).
RiskScout itself. You will know the product as well as our power users.
What It's Like to Work Here
You work directly with the people whose names are on the BSA exam. The feedback loop is short and the impact is real.
We are remote-first across the U.S. Occasional travel for FI site visits, partner events, and team gatherings.
We move quickly without being chaotic. We value steady operators over heroics.
We say what we mean. Bold, helpful, smart, honest. No corporate filler.
You will be trusted to make decisions in your lane. You will also be expected to make them.
How We Hire
Recruiter screen, 30 minutes. Mutual fit, comp, role overview.
Hiring manager conversation, 45 minutes with the Head of Operations.
Role deep-dive, 60 minutes. Walk us through a real implementation you ran, the hard moments, and what you did.
Cross-functional panel: three short conversations with Compliance, Product, and Customer Success.
Reference checks and offer. We move fast once we are aligned.
We aim to give every candidate a yes-or-no within two weeks of the first screen.
